The Spanish Catholic Political Parties. Their History and Evolution

Abstract

During the nineteen century was a vide discussion on the opportunity of create Spanish Catholic Political Parties. What do we understand by Catholic Parties. There had been seven different modalities of such Parties in Spain. And finally we recall the stand of the Church as regard the Catholic Political Parties, before and after the II Vatican Council, and the various declarations of the Spanish Bishops, after the Spanish Transition, and the declarations of the last two Popes. John Paul II and Benedict XVI on the subject of what we could call «Confessional Catholic Parties».
