The Instruction Potestas Ecclesiae, of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, contains the new procedural norms to be observed in the administrative process for the pontifical dissolution of a non-sacramental marriage. In this article, the author analyses this process, excluded from the Code of Canon Law, trying to solve some difficulties and quaestions caused by the new Norms: what are the conditions needed for the validity of the dissolution? Can the non-sacramental matrimonial bond be solved without the intention of celebrate a new marriage? What are the effects of the pontifical rescript?Downloads
