Abstract

In the present article a general presentation of the method of Open Calculation Based on Numbers (ABN) is made, highlighting its main features and the differential points with respect to other mathematical methods and also with respect to the traditional calculation. Another important point is the approach by the method of problem solving, as well as the specific preparation of students for learning maths on secondary school.

Jaime Martínez Montero

Inspector de Educación desde 1977 hasta el año 2014, año en el que se jubiló. Es maestro y doctor en Filosofía y Ciencias de la Educación. Ha publicado numerosos artículos y libros. Es miembro de la Orden de Alfonso X el Sabio, con la categoría de Encomienda con Placa. Ha sido profesor asociado en la Universidad de Cádiz, inspector central del MEC y agregado de educación en la Embajada de España en Suiza.
