Leading names in education: Friedrich Fröbel

Abstract

Fröbel was a pedagogue and a forerunner of a new education approach which defended the creation of kindergarten as well as games as a means and instrument to carry out the learning process. His inspiration came from Pestalozzi. During his childhood he had negative academic results but thanks to job training, he could work in different types of jobs. His influence in education was outstanding and even reached Spain in the hand of his mate Krause who defended the idea of play in the early stages of education.
