The protagonists are Léo and Rémi, two thirteen-year-old best friends who live in a rural environment in Belgium. They are inseparable and together they enjoy every day. They live imaginary stories, go from one place to another on their bicycles and run happily through the fields of a town near Ghent, where Léo's parents work on a flower farm. They often sleep at the house of one of them. Their families consider them as if they were brothers.
After the summer, they start the new course at the secondary school with new classmates. Given their strong friendship, some people mess with them and their relationship begins to falter. They feel observed and hear some comments about their deep and sensitive friendship. Léo begins to distance himself from Rémi, who suffers the new situation in silence and a distance occurs between them. As a consequence, something tremendous and unexpected happens for Léo that at first surpasses him and which results in a definitive change in his life.
