The Ratio Studiorum (1599) is the document that codified and shaped the educational tradition of the Society of Jesus for more than four centuries. Although it fell into disuse after the Second Vatican Council and the profound changes of the time, being replaced by new formulations adapted to the contexts of the 20th and 21st centuries, some of its key elements were relegated to the background in this transition. In this article, we propose five fundamental pillars of this rich tradition which, reformulated in contemporary language, can still offer significant value today.
