La asociación de las ideas y el concepto de lo pintoresco en la estética británica de la ilustración

Con el pretexto de revisar el significado y las implicaciones teóricas que trajo consigo la acuñación, en el siglo XVIII, del concepto de lo pintoresco, se intenta asentar con una nueva perspectiva la tesis de que la estética británica de la Ilustración experimenta un notable giro hacia la subjetividad como lugar de experimentación y de creación artística. Para ello, se estudia, en primer lugar, el mecanismo epistemológico empirista que ampara, en buena medida, la invención y el desarrollo de lo pintoresco, el de la asociación de las ideas, sin el cual es imposible entender —y esta es la segunda cuestión— la complejidad que adquiere el término y su relevancia para la subjetivación moderna de la estética.
