Don Quixote and the modernity
Keywords:
modernity, reflexivity, imagination.Abstract
From Hegel to Ortega there has been several attempts to relate Quixote’s realism to the characteristic features of the modernity. We follow here another path and attempt to show the fundamental connections between the cartesian and kantian project of a Philosophy of Reflection (that inaugurates the modern philosophy) and the self-conscious novel from Cervantes. This paper is further more concerned with the the prominent function that the imagination fulfills as much in Kant as in Cervantes.Downloads
