The objective of this article is to show the importance of the phenomenon of spiritism in Spain in the mid-nineteenth century. Not only was it considered one more philosophical current, but it aroused great interest within the scientific and cultural world of the time and was linked to free thought, Freemasonry and feminism. We believe that the three authors we have chosen, Antonio Torres y Solanot, Manuel González Soriano and Amalia Domingo Soler, are the most representative of this doctrine.
