Abstract

In his inaugural address at the Council, Pope John XXIII spoke discreetly and generally about the issue of reconciliation, but this issue turned into one of the identity signs of the Council. The assumption of reconciliation would end up creating what the author of this study calls the Council style, the spirit of Vatican. Reconciliation within the Church, reconciliation among religions and reconciliation with the world. In short, Vatican II assumed for the Church a different way to be understood in this world. This was and still is the developments of the Council.
