New migration movements in an extended European union

With occasion of the enlargement of the European Union much concern has been raised about a possible large increase of the migratory flows originating in the former Eastern European countries. A tough regulation has been elaborated in order to prevent it and many researches have been carried out with the same end in mind. But neither the figures available at the moment nor the prospective studies confirm in any way these fears.
