Abstract

This project stems from a collaboration between primary school teachers and the Department of Psychology at the Civil University of Salamanca, with the aim of transforming the rote teaching of mathematics into a comprehensive learning process.

To this end, Greeno’s diagrams are used, and pupils are taught to form a mental representation of the problem and to follow logical steps to solve it. It is an active and experiential methodology; furthermore, thanks to it, the source of errors has been identified and the children’s logical thinking has improved.
