Peer Review Process

Review

1. In order to guarantee impartiality in the selection of articles, all contributions will be sent anonymously to external reviewers from the list of contributors published by the Journal, always using the double-blind system. In the event that one of the opinions is unfavourable, a third opinion will be requested.

2. The maximum time limit for issuing the report is 60 days from receipt of the paper by the reviewers. The report is filed in the journal and its result will be communicated to the author.

3. The final will be notified to the author, with a reasoned decision, within a maximum period of three months from the date it was sent to the external reviewers.

4. The report of the reviewers will be reasoned, indicating whether they recommend acceptance of the original, its revision in accordance with the corrections, or the rejection of the evaluated work. In the event that one of the opinions is unfavourable and a third opinion is also unfavourable, the article will be automatically rejected.

5. Authors must adjust the final paper to the indications given by the reviewers. To this end, they must incorporate the corrections or modifications considered essential by the reviewers and, as far as possible, take their suggestions into account. If corrections are requested, the maximum deadline for submitting a new version of the article is one month.

6. The authors, by submitting their papers, accept the submission to the opinion of the reviewers.

7. The directors of Revista Iberoamericana de Bioética will ultimately decide on the publication of the articles and notify the authors.

Once the article has been accepted, galleys will be sent to the author. These galleys must be returned to the journal within 7 days. If they are not returned, it will be understood that the author accepts the final version.
