Children present higher morbidity and mortality on the transplant waiting list than adults and, in addition, they have a great difficulty in obtaining donors. Pediatric donation in controlled asystole (DACp) could improve transplant conditions of many patients. Despite, given that DACp requires adjustment in certain aspects of the medical assistance before the donor’s death, bioethicist experts and healthcare professionals have expressed deontological doubts not sufficiently debated. This work brings out both the bioethical problems with major clinical significance that should be considered ir order to respect the ethical principles of the donation process.
