The world population is constantly ageing, although life expectancy is increasing because of medical advances. However, longer life expectancy is not directly related to a better quality of life, since there are currently numerous factors, such as polypharmacy, that are accompanied by a morbidity and mortality rate in ageing. Hence, the importance of providing tools that contribute to good practices so that the care of the elderly contributes to healthy ageing.
