Abstract

The aim of this article is to examine the situation of pediatric osteopathy in Spain and propose the creation of an inter- and multi-disciplinary dialogue table that allows progress in its regulation and professional organization. At the present time, there is no academic standard that regulates this type of training in our country. The absence of regulation leads to a wide variety of professional profiles with disparate academic backgrounds, all practicing osteopathy. This fact may have implications for the safety and quality of care received by patients/users—mainly vulnerable and dependent groups of the population, such as minors. The creation of a dialogue table would also make it possible to clarify the professional practice of pediatric osteopathy and how it is internally good for Spanish society. The role of bioethics can be important when integrating different voices.
