Resumo

El artículo parte de la distinción entre religión y espiritualidad, plantea la correlación entre religiosidad y mejor salud para centrarse en la importancia de ciertas prácticas religiosas como elemento esencial para una mayor longevidad. En este contexto se estudia la vida religiosa en su relación con una mayor longevidad. Para ello se analizan las necrológicas de 300 jesuitas fallecidos en España entre 2016 y comienzos de la pandemia. El resultado es una longevidad de más de diez años con respecto a la media nacional. El artículo analiza algunos factores de esta mayor longevidad y ciertas variables significativas. Ni los genes, ni la inteligencia (mente-cerebro) parecen ser los factores más determinantes de la longevidad.
