El sistema de partidos norirlandés tras los Acuerdos de Viernes Santo

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el modo en que los Acuerdos de Viernes Santo, firmados en 1998 y que culminaban el proceso de paz que ponía fin a la violencia sufrida en la región durante tres décadas, han afectado a la configuración del sistema de partidos norirlandés. Trataremos de validar la hipótesis de que los acuerdos han favorecido a aquellos partidos situados en los extremos. Sin embargo, también trataremos de demostrar cómo dicho auge de los partidos situados en el extremo ha venido acompañado de una moderación de sus postulados. Para ello, analizaremos el impacto del modelo institucional en tal proceso. Llevaremos a cabo este análisis desde la perspectiva teórica del consociacionalismo.
