The article analyzes the most significant conclusions of the 8th Congress held in North Korea by the ruling Workers’ Party between January 5 and 12, 2021 and other political events held during the first half of 2021 and how this may influence the future policy of North Korea, the position of its top leader Kim Jong-un and whether an evolution of the present situation towards new approaches in the political, economic, military and social fields, as well as in the international policy linked to the development of the nuclear weapon, is feasible.
