CoFoE: un paso (¿en falso?) hacia la (re)politización de la UE

Después de un año de deliberaciones el informe final de CoFoE (2022) recogió casi medio centenar de propuestas y más de trescientas medidas. La iniciativa se concibió como una plataforma inclusiva para recoger diferentes voces y ofrecer espacios en los que la ciudadanía europea pudiera expresarse. Además, buscaba apuntalar la legitimidad democrática y el futuro del proyecto europeo. Tras un proceso con aciertos y errores, ahora les toca a las instituciones europeas tomar el testigo. Es decir, dar un paso hacia la politización de la UE implementado las propuestas planteadas por la Conferencia y estableciendo canales permanentes de participación y deliberación, impulsando así la esfera pública europea y permitiendo que la “institución del disenso” tome el lugar de la “institución del consenso”; o, por el contrario, ignorar las demandas ciudadanas. El futuro de Europa puede depender de ello.
