Aristotle in his work makes ample use of metaphors, applied to different fields of knowledge, giving proof of his epistemological capacity of synthesizing the discursive and intuitive dimensions of reason. However, when he deals with metaphor from the point of view of the theory of science, in particular his propaedeutic method, dialectics, he disqualifies it and considers metaphor incapable of providing knowledge, since it depends on whether objects present more abstraction or separation, and therefore demand more precision in definitions and demonstrations.
