Contributions to the institutionalization of Social Work in Spain: from the first essays to the first doctoral theses

The aim of this paper is to analyze the contributions and studies thathave been conducted on social work in relation to its institutionalization as a discipline and profession in Spain. For this purpose, studies are divided into three types: essays, sociological research and doctoral theses, selecting in each of these categories the first studies carried out. Through these, the changes and evolution of social work within the context in which these productions are generated are highlighted.
