The creation of meaning. The model of experiential philosophy of language by Eugene T. Gendlin
Keywords:
experiencing, felt-sense, implicit meaning, explicit meaning, direct reference, symbolizationAbstract
The philosophy of language by Eugene Gendlin represents an innovative paradigm to understand the formation of meanings from the bodily felt experience. Meanings are created through an implicit process by which we elaborate symbolizations that interact with our experiencing and enable the deployment of the words that do mean. This article is an attempt to address how this internal process takes place within Gendlin´s theory of language.
