Abstract

This article aims to analyze if the level of research and contribution of theological thought developed by the faculties of theology and centers of theological studies in the second half of the twentieth century and especially in the first decade of the century, is allowing a link of theological studies to the broader field of humanities and social sciences within the Spanish public universities at the dawn of this century. This dialogue would be enlightening for society at large, both in its civil and ecclesiastical dimensions. The results, however suggest that this inter-faculty dialogue (with theology) remains in fact only in universities linked to the Catholic Church.
