Duelo en la adopción

Abstract

This article goes deeply into the painful part (grief) that can appear in a happy event as it is the adoption of a boy or a girl. In the last times the international adoption has become a social emergent phenomenon in our environment. Every time there are more people that choose this way of creating a new family or just to increase the existent one. The adoption entails a social benefit for the boy or girl and it offers to those that can not procreate the possibility of being parents. Many couples reach the adaptation after failing in a treatment of assisted reproduction. They approach the adoption after a period of postponements, tensions, and they have had to accept a renouncement end and loss with undervalue feelings, shame, fault or rages. The child’s arrival will also suppose a confrontation with the reality.
