Paths to discover social education through savings
Keywords:

Ten years ago I investigated the educational meaning that saving and savings banks had in Spain between 1834 and 1919. An important part of that study has already been published. What I like to present here are the main ideas that at the beginning of that work I had the privilege to discuss with Juan Manuel Cobo. Thanks to those conversations I would able to limitate my subject. The object was to explain and to contextualize the sentence: «the traditional benefical work of savings banks» which the institutional documentation repeated continuously as a leitmotiv.
