Translational treatment of the cultural elements in Spanish translations of Heidi by Johanna Spyri
Keywords:
translation, cultural markers, German, Spanish, HeidiAbstract
This paper studies the translation into Spanish of the cultural elements of the novel Heidi by Johanna Spyri. For this purpose, we carry out an empirical descriptive analysis with data from the National Library of Spain. Our aim is, in the first place, to identify the cultural markers in the original edition in German and arrange them according to their field of cultural environment and, secondly, to compare and evaluate the methods used to translate them in various editions in Spanish.
