Abstract

This article tries to analyse whether the right to development as cornerstone of other human rights is present in the European Union Global Approachto Migration established since 2005. One of Global Approach to Migration main objectives is to strength the synergies between migration and development inorder to cooperate with development of EU immigrant’s countries of origin. However, there are not reasons that lead us to think that EU Institutions and EU Member States are focusing on Global Approach just to emphasize the fight against illegal immigration. And, moreover, to use cooperation with countries of origin in order to improve legal immigration towards Europe through selectionprocesses and brain drain.
