The future of social rights

This paper reflects about the present situation of social rights especially in western countries. With this aim, some of the arguments used to distinguish civil and social rights are discussed. One of the characteristics of social rights is their purpose of taking out of the market the satisfaction of the most basic needs. In the present context, labor market is not a good guarantee to social rights; in consequence, the future of social rights will consist in looking for new primaryand secondary guarantees to them.Downloads
