Pope Francis and the Culture of Encounter. A Contribution to Dialogue and Peace between Religions

This article briefly describes the history of Christianity’s openness to other religions and its appreciation of dialogue and collaboration with other believers in the 20th century in order to understand better Jorge Bergolio’s concept of culture of encounter, developed firstly as bishop of Buenos Aires and later as Pope in his ecumenical and interreligious meetings. This category supposes a deepening in the models of interreligious dialogue aimed at achieving world peace.
