¿Leo Strauss como epicúreo?

Resumen

Al final de su vida, Leo Strauss se definió como un epicúreo que ayudaba a hacer del mundo un mundo. El presente artículo intentará dar explicación de esta auto-definición por parte de un filósofo cuya interpretación ha sido y sigue siendo problemática. Tal y como se mostrará, la descripción como epicúreo es compatible con el hecho de que Strauss fuera un filósofo escéptico socrático. Así, la etiqueta de «epicúreo» deberá entenderse más bien en relación con su posicionamiento en el debate entre Revelación y filosofía. Además, es la concepción socrática sobre la relación entre filosofía y política la que explica el hacer mundo de un filósofo como Strauss.
