Abstract

Spain: the pirate country. According to the world intellectual property institutions and, particularly, to the United State’s Autorities, Copyright holders have no legaltools in Spain to protect their works. In fact, there is an open debate on the mass media but significantly unbalanced against copyright. Some mistaken arguments to promote free contents on the Internet are damaging the intellectual property rights. A proper law, to improve significantely the enforcement and to increase publica wareness are the strategies needed in order to stop harming a very active industry, which generates richness and creates jobs. Otherwise, those industries will disapear from Spain.
