Air pollution and public health: a view of climate change and its impact on health from the right

The environmental protection and the fight against pollution has not addressed the impact that such policies may have on the health of people, so that the determination of these should have tried to prioritize the benefit for health of people overother different goals. This perspective has been largely forgotten until recently, when specific epidemiological studies on the actual impact that air pollution on the health of the people have provided specific data which are quite alarming. In our work weanalyze, under the right to health enshrined in Article 43 of the Constitution, if the implementation of policies to combat air pollution has to find its main foundation and basis in public health. Furthermore, the debate is particularly relevant in the current context in which the growth of health spending in most Western economies requires the adoption of sustainable measures to make the model. Between them could be found polices which main target is to protect the health of individuals, not from the traditional perspective of health care (curative and care), but from theperspective of disease prevention.References
