Setting up a common policy immigration and asylum in the European Union

This article examines the evolution of immigration and asylum in the European Union. It analyses three stages on the construction of a common policy: from 1986 to 1992, with inter-governmental cooperation; from 1992 to 1997, with “para-Community” regulation, and from 1997, with “Community adaptation” or common policy.References
