La dirección medioambiental de la empresa: una aproximación en la industria española

La preocupación por el medio ambiente es creciente. A nivel empresarial se está considerando la variable medio ambiente en términos estratégicos. Esto supone la necesidad de diseñar y desarrollar productos y procesos productivos respetuosos con el medio ambiente, por lo que es en el ámbito de la función de operaciones donde especialmente se refleja el quehacer de la organización en materia medioambiental.
En este trabajo hemos analizado la importancia que la dirección de la empresa concede a los asuntos medioambientales y la manera en que se refleja en sus actuaciones dicha importancia, especialmente en el área de operaciones, lo que ha llevado a analizar las cuestiones medioambientales como una variable competitiva de operaciones. Desde una muestra de empresas industriales españolas, hemos valorado los anteriores argumentos teóricos.
