About the Journal

Migraciones is the first specialized research journal to be published in Spain on the subject of migration. Its periodicity is biannual, appearing two numbers per year (December and June). Number 0 was published in December 1996.

Migraciones is indexed in Sociological Abstracts, Political Science Abstracts, InDICEs CSIC, PSICODOC, Latindex, Scopus , Emerging Sources Citation Index.

Focus & Scope

Migraciones is a multidisciplinary journal, specialized in international migration issues, particularly those related to Spain. It was launched in 1996 by the Instituto Universitario de Migraciones of Universidad Pontificia Comillas, with the purpose of offering Spanish migration scholars a space to publish their work. Since then, its spring and autumn issues have not disappointed its readers, having become, inside and outside our country, an inescapable reference for issues of its concern.

Peer Review Process

The originals received will be sent anonymously to two external reviewers, experts in the subject of the paper. In some cases a third opinion may be requested, especially when there is a significant divergence of criteria. Ultimately, the final decision will be made by the editorial team and notify the authors.

Open Access Policy

Migraciones provides Diamond Open Access to its content, based on the principle of offering society open access to research contributes to the global exchange of knowledge.

Self-archiving permission

Authors are recommended to publish the post-print articles version (the editor's version) on the internet (for example, in institutional repositories or personal web pages) immediately after their publication to contribute to their wider dissemination, quoting appropriately the original source (including the full URL of the article’s DOI).

Article Processing Charges

There is no charge for submission articles. Nor by editing or publishing them in open access (APC).

Migraciones uses the iThenticate tool to check that the articles received are original and there is no plagiarism.

Interoperability protocol
