The «foreign» standing of pupils of immigrant origin in the educational system, according to the law of quality in education

Abstract

The 42rd article of the Law of Quality in Education deals with the entry into the educational system of foreign pupils. This article is in a chapter about the pupils with specific educational needs. The structural arrangement, the text analysis, the comparison with other law fragments and the study of the ammends refused by the Popular parliamentary group, shows a correspondence between this law and the whole policy directed towards foreigners by the previous conservative Spanish government. The legal norm reveals the best way «to make foreign pupils more foreign», the best way to segregate them in the educational system.
