Immigrants And Social Resources Natural. The Application Of The Model Convoy Of Social Process Acculturation
Abstract
This paper analyses the impact of natural social resources on acculturation. Acculturation is seen a as process of socialization and skills learning in the transition to a new country. It is based within the Social Convoy framework (Khan & Antonucci, 1980), which is focused on an ecological and psychosocial perspective. The paper deals with the following issues: 1) the functions of the natural social resources throughout the migration process; 2) how the social network is able to give help at any stage of the migration process; and 3)what is the specific role that kin, compatriots and host people have in both the psychological and employment status.
