Descriptive study abroad students schooled Galicia

Abstract

With data obtained at the Consellería de Educación y Ordenación Universitaria de la Xunta de Galicia (Department of Education in the Autonomous Region of Galicia), the main aim of this article is to describe both the distribution and the main characteristics of foreign students who attend Galician schools. We first describe the situation of immigration in Spain and in Galicia in order to focus after on the group central to our research: that of foreign children in the school system of Galicia We will analyze issues such as the country of origin of these pupils, their educational level, the type of teaching they receive, their geographical location and their degree of concentration in certain schools. In the article we compare our conclusions with others researches.
