Family reunion of inmigrants in Spain. Proposal of directive about the family reunion right and its incidence

On the subject of family reunion, finally the European common policy will come down specifically to a Directive about the family reunion right. We have analyzed the Proposal of Council Directive on December 1999 and the modification on May 2002, comparing its contents. Afterwards, we have seen Spanish legislation to light of the Proposal of Directive on 2nd may 2002. From the comparative analyze between the Proposal and the Spanish Immigration Law, it is possible to conclude that some fittings are necessaries but some rules are more generous than the Proposal and they must stand in force (in accordance with the clause of maintenance of the status quo).
