Social media in social research
Should we develop new methodologies or adapt to existing ones?

This article reflects on the challenges and difficulties faced by researchers wishing to carry out social research in social media. Problems regarding data access are identified, while the author questions whether the methodology used is sufficient. The main topics in these types of analyses are identified and the appropriateness of current trends is reviewed.
