The question of content in art is explored with regard to its aesthetic meaning, outlining the idea of artistic creation as a celebration. Applying the approaches of Merleau-Ponty and Valéry, this research concerns the creation of literary fiction and tests a definition of literature as a narrative and verbal celebration of life. The article closes with a reflection on the relationship between the idea of life and art, as well as the differences of this relationship with philosophy itself, in the light of Krause’s aesthetic thought.
