Michel Marteron, in his fifties, works in the shipyards of Marseille and is a union representative of the workers. As a result of the financial crisis, his company is forced to fire twenty people and Marteron loses his job. Staying unemployed is a disappointment, but Michel and his wife Marie-Claire will be able to continue living without too much trouble. It does not even prevent them from celebrating their 30 years of happy marriage, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and a large number of friends and co-workers. As an anniversary gift from everyone, they receive a trip to Kilimanjaro.
But their happiness and their projects are frustrated one night when two armed and masked men enter their home, violently assault them and steal their money and tickets. They denounce the robbery to the police, hoping that they find the culprits and justice is done.
When Michel and his wife discover who the aggressor was and what their circumstances are, their convictions and their unwavering ethical sense are put to the test.
