Abstract

When a child is rejected by his peers, they feel intimidated and their self-esteem falters; however, these peers are not well integrated either. This article explains several causes that can lead to antisocial behavior. One example being sexual harassment or peer abuse. In addition, it explains that violence that enters classrooms usually has its roots in the home. Therefore, guidance programs should be developed to help support students; the use of punitive measures is not recommended. Data from an Internet study on school violence are given at the end of the article.
