Abstract

Dual vocational training is the closest apprenticeship to "real work", supported by the international trend to promote different types of apprenticeships in real-life contexts, grouped under the name of internships. These apprenticeships ensure that participants practice and develop a range of skills that today's work demands and that are difficult to encourage in a school environment alone. The opportunity to develop these skills while at school is one of the great advantages of these hybrid (school-business) learning models.
