Set in England in the 1950s, the film tells the hard work at the «Manor Farm» whose owner, Mr. Jones, due to personal problems and his addiction to alcohol, does not take care of it as he should. For this reason, it not only seeks the exploitation of the various animals that inhabit it: horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens, geese..., but it also mistreats them. One night, taking advantage of the owner's drunkenness, Major, the oldest and most respected animal on the farm, summons them to start a rebellion. They plan to overthrow the ruthless farmer in search of a better world in which humans do not intervene in their lives; so they create the Animal Farm and some commandments that everyone must comply with. After the fight for property facing different enemies, and the arrival of a period of bonanza, some of the animals will seize power, resuming a situation of slavery for the others, which differs in nothing from the previous life. A definitive revolution will be necessary to walk a new path, but in combat, many of the animals will lose their lives.
