Abstract

From my professional experience as therapist in Cusco (Perú) for over twenty years, the Qhapaq Ñan, or main path of the Inca Empire, arises as a metaphor leading to focus on the important weight of emotions in the practice of Therapeutic Pedagogy.

After a brief conceptual approach to Salovey and Mayer´s emotional intelligence model, five paths or strategies are proposed from the   therapeutic point of view: gaming, story telling, drawing, controlled breathing and meditation, and reflective dialogue.
