In this article, I analyze Michael Foucault’s and Antoni Domènech’s contributions in relation to a political philosophy of the body. In order to do so, I study their respective approaches to classical ethics, both as an aesthetics of existence and as an erotic reason that opposes an inert reason. Then, upon confirming their concomitances, I propose to complete them with a reading of Plato’s Symposium. At the end, I exemplify how this program could work by analyzing conformity and resistance against the imposition of a bodily orthodoxy.
