The article aims to vindicate the centrality of doubt in philosophical work. Through the examination of different pages from thinkers such as Giordano Bruno, Plato, Montaigne, Lessing, Feynman or Einstein, it is shown how any truth will always be transitory, the ultimate truth being an unattainable limit for the human being. Similarly, any possession of truth will always be illusory and, by rendering the search useless, will inevitably impede progress.
