Abstract

Both Hegel’s work in modernity and Thomas Aquinas work in the Middle Ages represent two of the major efforts that have been made in philosophical thinking to give explanation to the most important questions and problems of metaphysics. There is no doubt that the presence or immanence of the Absolute in the finiteness, as well as the conception of nothingness, are issues of particular depth in speculative reflection and they occupy a privilege place in it. In this paper both questions will be concisely analysed, by following the reading and interpretation of the two mentioned authors made by the Italian philosopher Cornelio Fabro.
